F. Renee Hamilton, a native Houstonian, is an attorney by trade but a writer and poet by passion. She has always had an infatuation with words and using them to display the many emotions that we feel but cannot always explain. She is a graduate of Southern University, where she was a staff writer for the award-winning student newspaper, the Southern Digest, and obtained her law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. While poetry is her first love, she also enjoys writing short-stories and is currently finishing her first fiction novel. Her first published work entitled “An Ode” was released in November 2018.
“An Ode” is described as the perfect lyrics to accompany the journey through relationships past and present. The highs and lows, the joys and sorrows, triumphs and failures. A full poetic testament to what it means to be fully loved and then not. Her poetry comes straight from the heart, oftentimes mirroring the ebbs and flows of everyday relationships. In addition to writing, she is an avid reader, enjoys volunteering, spending time with family & friends, traveling the world and playing with her mini schnauzer.
